I am confused at the vehemence.
Frosting = sugary topping, icing of any kind whose main ingredient is probably icing (powdered) sugar plus flavourings.
Ganache = double cream and chocolate. Sugar generally does not factor into it, it is certainly not the main ingredient.Therefore: frosting and ganache are two different things. It is perfectly possible to have a ganache-topped cupcake.

no, i’m pretty sure you’re taking it correctly. this guy is just… fuckin’ mad, perhaps because he perceives specificity as an attempt at pretension or something. getting mad about it just proves one’s ignorance on the subject at hand i guesssss
Or, conceivably, I was just making a joke about turning cupcakes into haute cuisine (which, come on, is pretty silly), and don’t actually spend any time or energy thinking about cupcakes or being mad at them.
Cupcakes are not that serious.
